About Us
Fintrust Nigeria
Fintrust Nigeria is a renewable energy company delivering practical, affordable, and reliable solar solutions to communities and businesses facing high electricity costs and limited access to dependable power.
Between 2011 and late 2014, the founder provided voluntary technical and community-based support to the Community Research and Development Centre (CREDC) in Benin City, Nigeria. During this period, he supported community solar projects across Edo and Nasarawa States, delivering Solar Home System (SHS) training, solar charging infrastructure, community mini-grids, solar-powered borehole water systems, and UNDP- and GEF-funded rural electrification projects that improved energy access, safety, and livelihoods.
Our journey into Nigeria is built on deep regional experience and long-standing commitment. The company was founded in Cameroon by a renewable energy professional with over 20 years of hands-on experience in the solar and clean energy sector. Over the course of his career, the founder worked across multiple solar and energy organizations, gaining practical expertise in system design, installation, project management, operations, and capacity building across diverse African contexts.
Through this hands-on engagement, he worked directly with local communities to promote basic lighting solutions, solar awareness, and practical energy education, demonstrating how renewable energy can meaningfully improve daily life, enhance safety, and unlock local economic opportunities.
That experience in Nigeria left a lasting impression. It revealed both the transformative power of decentralized solar energy and the structural challenges—unreliable grids, high fuel costs, limited technical capacity—that continue to affect households, small businesses, and institutions across the country.
Following years of continued professional practice in Cameroon, the decision to expand into Nigeria represents both a return and a progression: a return to a country where the founder first worked closely with communities at grassroots level, and a progression toward delivering structured, scalable, and high-quality renewable energy solutions informed by decades of real-world experience.
Today, our Nigeria operations combine:
- Proven technical expertise
- Local knowledge and community engagement
- A commitment to quality, affordability, and long-term sustainability
We focus on solutions that reduce energy costs, improve reliability, and support economic resilience, serving homes, businesses, institutions, and community projects.
Our approach is grounded in experience, shaped by local realities, and driven by a simple belief: clean energy should work for people, not the other way around.
